INVESTITURE

The ceremony at which a man becomes a Knight and a woman becomes a Dame of the Order is called the Investiture. The Order’s Royal Patron, Princess Elisabeth, allows the Grand Prior to grant these titles to our Postulants (successful applicants) on her behalf. The ceremony is the most meaningful event of the year for members of the Order, and is often one of the most memorable of his or her life for a postulant because it brings into focus the values and traditions that distinguished the Order almost 900 years ago, reminding us of the power for good that those values and traditions have today.

The Priory of Our Savior has been blessed to hold its Investitures at The Church of Our Saviour in San Gabriel, California, the church of General George S. Patton, Jr. Founded in 1867 by General Patton’s grandfather and one of Los Angeles’ founding fathers, Benjamin Wilson, the church provides a beautiful setting for this important ceremony. We have been honored with the Grand Prior’s presence and leadership on several of these occasions.

The Priory’s Investitures are held at the church every Spring. We are currently considering and accepting applicants for investiture.
